    5 Ways to Reduce Stress

    With stress awareness week just past, it seemed a good time to continue that awareness as an ongoing practice with the subsequent 5 ways to reduce stress.

    Stress overtime, can have a significant impact on our lives and if allowed to build up can lead to further health problems. It is therefore very important to have ways that you can practice regularly that will help you to reduce any stress and prevent its impact.

    5 ways to reduce stress;

    1. Walk in Nature– this method combines two practices, one of being in nature and another of exercise. Both combined will allow you to reduce any stress levels within a short period of time and done regularly will have lasting benefits.
    2. Meditation– a regular meditation or deep breathing practice can help you return to your centre and avoid getting caught up in chaotic thoughts or situations. Helping you find that presence when you need it most.
    3. Do what you love – time spent doing what you love and enjoy most, is important for us all in allowing to let go of any build up of tension from the otherwise less enjoyable areas of life.
    4. Share how you feel -Whether this be through talking or writing and being to someone who you can trust, to share how you feel is very important. Holding on to stressful thoughts and feelings especially for too long can allow it to build up and the effects of stress to accumulate.
    5. Practice peace – spending time in quiet, whether that be at home or a peaceful place away or outdoors, allows the mind to calm and a sense of peace to accumulate. Practicing peace in this way can have lasting benefits to help you reduce stress and its effects.

    These are some of the best ways o reducing stress and its effects. Please share and comment about your practice and I hope you find that important time to de-stress this and every week.

  • Staying Motivated in Colder Months

    Staying Motivated in Colder Months

    As the days get shorter and colder in the Autumn to Winter months it can get harder to maintain motivation for your health and fitness regime.

    So what can you do to ensure you stay motivated. Here are my 3 top tips;

    1. Rise early– although it may be challenging at first it will be well worth it, rising 1- 2 hours earlier allows for you to have a daily morning routine, of exercise and meditation ready to start the day in the best way.
    2. Keep to a routine – being structured on this is important, be sure to make all aspects of your wellbeing a part of your routine at set times and days, this makes it much easier.
    3. Keep balance – as important to your wellbeing as exercise,. is rest, so be sure to get the right balance to maintain motivation and performance. Keeping alternate training days such as cardio and resistance and have one complete rest day/treat day makes a big difference.

    For more information on how to stay motivated and to book your initial coaching session, please send me a message below with your name and details of your goals and I’ll get back to you soon.
